Jarhead (HD DVD, 2006)

After serving in Iraq with the Marines...I found this movie to be pretty close to true. With some exceptions...like trying to make it look like we are all crazy, or go crazy from war...this was pretty close. We saw much more combat...but there was a lot of sitting time.

I couldn't watch it because it wouldn't play ini my hd dvd player. There isn't anything else to say about it except I asked the seller why this is & got the response back that it had to be a specific hd dvd player in order for it to play the hd dvd that I bought from the seller.

Not a fan of all the wars we are entagled in. Boy things have changed over the last eight years even people who supported the empires strangle hold on the world are realizing at what cost and how many more will die in a place that is evident in this film that doesn't want us to be their. This is in no way the soldiers fault but is a reflection of the leadership and the lack thereof.

my husband has been looking everywhere for this movie and i got this brand new one cheaper than at stores and still factory sealed awsome

An amazing film based on reality in the Gulf War. This film is a must see if you enjoy intense drama and visualization.

Incredibly well done. Outstanding and underrated cast. A very pleasing performance and tale of post-traumatic stress and the life after combat. The cinematography is absolutely jaw dropping in this film. The scenes shot in the desert, especially with the oil fires, are truly breathtaking. The emotional level brought by a beautiful score really supports the perfect shots not in a noticeable way so that you feel forced but a natural way, so you feel eased and right. Something I recognized right away as I got into the film was the lack of political standpoint or message shoved. I felt like we as the viewer are given a very realistic view into a soldiers life and at the end are left deciding whatever political fate we wish. For a war film, this attribute is extremely rare and cherished. I am so glad that it was just a real story and not something covering up a motivation. I've highly enjoyed watching this film multiple times.

I really wanted this movie and I couldn't find it elsewhere. I decided to buy it online. I found a seller. I really like collecting movies and I want all my movies to be in good shape. The seller of this movie said it would be new and factory sealed. When I got this movie, Jarhead (2006, HD DVD), in the mail, it was new and sealed. However, the case was in terrible shape. I was very displeased about this. The DVD was brand new though, so I was happy about that.

This has been a great movie since full metal jacket. Taken place in modern day of today shows how soldiers are of today and not yesterday.

Great movie. Love the desert storm scenes, having been there done that. Has some slow parts, and a little off track, but great movie all in all.
