It seems to be a solid little machine for the price. However, it is not the easiest serger to thread, and I have owned sergers for 20+ years.
I was sewing a satin garment with a gathered area over the sleeve, it would not stitch over the gathers. The thread in the loopers breaks everytime. Very frustrating. I would like to return it and get my money back, but I don't think that is possible with an ebay purchase. I will give the person/vendor good feed back, it was an easy purchase and shipping process.

Excellent purchase!I have owned Janome or New Home sewing machines since 1970. My first one had many features not available on other machines. When I saw Janome serger, I was immediately interested. I had wanted the Janome 634D serger but it retailed between $999 and 399, out of my price range. I won the auction for this serger on Ebay at a little over $200. It has a much improved threading system, color-coded with instructions right on the door. It serges smoothly and quietly. It has easy adjustments to lengthen or widen the stitch. It has a built-in rolled hem. I love this machine.

Good buys from Ebay
) My wife and I have a Janome 644D and have been very pleased with it, if, we get a chance to use it. Our four daughters have been using our Janome so much that we finally decided to get them all their own machines. We have been watching on Ebay with the "saved item watch" for the Janome 634D and 644D machines and have been fortunate in getting three more for a very reasonable price. They were all in perfect condition and we now get to use our own machine again! Our youngest daughter just turned 16 and is still waiting for her Janome. The only thing that worries me is two grand-daughters that that are beginning to eye our machine. We might be on Ebay for years to come.
