    Unlike the "Emma" starring Gwyneth Paltrow, this is not a comedy. Although the terribly senseless Harriet Smith, the exceedingly talkative Miss Bates, and the rude, arrogant Mrs. Ehlton are all still a part of this film, it focuses more on the upright, caring, though not very handsome, Mr. Knightly and the sweet-tempered young Emma Woodhouse. This version is slightly boring in a few places, but overall the very endearing and enchanting love story of two close friends. Four stars!

    After the movie was over I put the DVD back in to watch the final scene about three more times. It was so wonderfully romantic! During the movie you kind of get the feeling that Mr. Knightly really loves Emma. But then other characters intertwine in the story to make you think that maybe his affections are elsewhere. And Emma, so childish in so many ways, is played delightfully by Kate Bekinsale.
    Well done!! MUCH MUCH better than the Gweneth Paltrow version.
