The Jacket I Wear in the Snow by Shirley Neitzel (1990, Paperback)

This is the first book I purchased by Shirley Neitzel, and it is a very well crafted book. Each rhyming phrase is repeated throughout the book, with a new phrase added on each page. The repitition is great for learning minds. The pictures used in place of the words help build vocabulary and let the child "read" along with you. At 20 months, my child was "reading" this book on her own. Because of this book, my child knows words like scarf, mittens, boots, long underwear, jeans, sweater, and many more. We will collect all Shirley Neitzel books.
