The Jack Bull (DVD, 1999)

This is one of the better Westerns to come down the pike over the last decade or so. The plot pits a small horse rancher against his rich neighbor, who abuses some of the former's horses left in his care as surety for a toll fee across the wealthy owner's land. It's a tragedy, so don't look for one of those "all is well that ends well" DVD's. You will find yourself pulling for the little guy, and perhaps leave with a sense of disgust for our legal system. I don't think this dvd is a widely known one, but if you like a good Western, this one ranks right up there with Broken Trail, You Know My Name, 3:10 To Yuma, Tombstone and any of Sam Elliotts' flicks. Treat yourself and get it!

I like the actor. It is such a sad movie. It made me cry its one of my favorites. I love the story line it is very touching.

I never watch westerns but found this film quite good, as we all know 9 out of ten films are normally rubbish, but this one is definately worth a watch!

This was a great movie. Never saw John Cusack in this type of flick. A friend went on about how great a movie it was and how she couldn't find it. I found it on ebay, watched it and then gave it to her as a gift. She was thrilled.

Wonderfull western with a great story! A pleasure to watch! Even with the kids! This is a classic that will get watched every year!

I bought it because I saw it a long time ago. Originally I watched it because I have the hots for Cusack and I love horses... but it turned out to be much more different than I thought.
Warning though, it is a TEAR JERKER!!!!!!
John Cusack is such a HOT BABE on a horse!

The main character believes his rights have been violated (which they were). His horses have been abused and he seeks justice. It has great moral values and pulls at your heart. We saw this movie when it first came out and loved it--we still do. Everyone should get something out of this movie. Great actors, you really feel for them! The movie reflects how it used to be and how it should still be.

It is a great movie. I love the way he stood up for his the way he believed. It took his life to do it, but he did it. That takes a man with integrity, which you do not find alot of now a days. It was an all around EXCELLENT MOVIE.

I am a big fan of John Cusack. Of all his movies, The Jack Bull is his BEST! The screen play was written by his father, Richard Cusack, but Johnny does an OUTSTANDING job in this movie. This is a "must see" for any John Cusack fan!

I thought The Jack Bull was an excellent Western movie.

I liked the way the lead character held to his beliefs that people, all people, be treated equally and that the law,(Sheriff, Judge, etc.) needs to provide rightful justice to a wrong that has been done to a person.

My husband had seen this movie and thought it was a real good, so he asked me to purchase it. It is a movie that we will watch again and again!
