Unit just plain works. Video quality isn't the best....but tracking on old tapes is very good.
I bought this unit primarily for the VCR playback. I didn't care about DVD playback.
I bought the unit to transfer existing video tapes to DVD via a secondary recorder. The VCR has some very nice features.
I would rate the VCR at a quality of 4.
DVD I cannot rate.

We have several older JVC tv's and one of our dvd/vcr players quit playing alla the movie disc's, so we ordered this player and it was so easy to set up and worked right away. We are happy with it.

had VHS topes that we still enjoy watching-have DVD movies as well. The separate players took up alot of space and alot of cords. Needed to replace VHS player and thought get a combo. Saved space and alot less cords. Words great with clear picture. Reconditioned and was a great price.
