JBL Reference 610 Wireless headphones

I had been searching for bluetooth headphones...not for a cell phone but for an MP3 player...I like my music and it seems that some bluetooth headphones, because of all the compression for bluetooth, just don't sound as good as they maybe could...
So, I wanted good sound quality...I also wanted comfort...
I looked at various headphones, tried a few out...took 3-4 pair back to the store to exchange...but nothing was just "quite right"...
My impression of JBL was very positive...and I have a pair of old JBL Studio monitors from the late '60's that I had reconed, and they sound just great...
So when I discovered these JBL 610's, I thought, hmmm, maybe...
If you find them retail, they are expensive...listing for about $200, get them for about $120, and I found a new pair on eBay for $60...why not...???
Had them for about 2 months and here are my impressions...BTW, I have these paired with a Sony Walkman, NWZ-A829...
PRO...
Comfortable...cushioned phones fit around my ear...
Over the head band is fully adjustable, however, where the head band connects with the phones looks like a "weak" connection...I think JBL could have "beefed" that part up a little, although at this point I have had no problems...
Sound quality...better than I expected...highs are sharp, brilliant...lows are solid...base very clean, pronounced...very well rounded...Midrange could be slightly better...but my Walkman has 5 equalizers to choose from...I punched the mids up a bit and now am totally happy...
Unexpected...sound deadening is excellent...JBL does not advertise these as sound deadening phones...but they do a credible job in airplanes...
CON...
One week after I got them, the leather covered cushion on the left side ripped open along the seam, exposing the foam rubber inside...I contacted JBL, registered them for warranty....they responed by email in about 2 weeks indicating they were under warranty...another week passed and I got another email indicating they would either replace them or refund my money...told them I would like them replaced...They said another supply should be available late August...so waiting for the replacement...In the meantime, I'm still using them, the ripped cushion has no effect on using them...
All-in-all...very happy with headphones and certainly recommend them to anyone interested...
