My husband bought this for me for my birthday, or Christmas, or something. Anyway, it didn't look that great, so I set it aside amongst my Jane Green, Sophie Kinsella, Jennifer Weiner, etc., and forgot about it.
I decided to give it a try, and discovered an absolutely fantastic novel. The plot is tight, the characters extremely well formed, and the dialogue believable and interesting.
Iris is a Californian who ends up in New York City and in the midst of a divorce. She was lured to New York by a new job only to be laid off four months later. She finds herself doing freelance detective work. I can't say much more or I'll give it away, but if you are a fan of the chick lit genre, you will adore this book.
