I liked the remake of this film, so I thought that I'd check out the original. There is very little acting involved on anyone's part; Michael Caine is simply playing Michael Caine as a "master-thief" of some renown. But there is no back-story that explains any of it. The mini-Coopers and the scenery are the stars of this caper always on the edge of disaster, which is where it fittingly ends; on the edge of disaster.
Sometimes the original is not the best version; get this only for historical reference or as a collector.
