Isle of View, I love you!

Isle of View is the 13th novel in the Xanth trilogy by Piers Anthony.Yes, I said trilogy. What began as a three-book series rapidly skyrocketed, and this book is one of a number of fantastic novels within it. It begins with the winged centaur foal Che being foal-napped, and his dam Chex searching frantically for him. Helping her in the search through the magical and pun-filled land of Xanth is Prince Dolph and his two betrothees, the beautiful Nada Naga and the plainly extraordinary Electra.
This book is quite an example of it's kind, and true to all Xanth novels, is filled with tons of punnish wit and hints of the Adult COnspiracy. Hardcore Xanth fans will love the mischeivious and yet surprisingly touching storyline, and newcomers to the series will undoubtedly be hooked on the marvelous magics that abound within the bizarre land of Xanth.
I love this book, because it contained so very many hints and bits and pieces that later became novels unto themselves. I highly recommend this book, and it's 29 currently released brethren, to anyone who enjoys fantasy, romance, and lot (I mean LOTS) of puns.

  Isle of View Review

I have been reading Piers Anthony books since I was in high school. The Xanth series is a wonderful mixture of humor and fantasy. I have enjoyed this book and am trying to get all the books in the series. I highly recommend this book as well as all the rest in the Xanth series. Piers does a great job in writing his books in that you don't need to read the whole series to understand what this book is about. Each book can stand alone but, each book sits nicely in the series.

I love you - I mean, Isle Of View!
Review created: 06/17/06

This book introduces the character of Jenny Elf. In real life, Jenny was a 12 year old girl who was hit by a drunk driver. She survived, and through a lot of therapy and letters back and forth with Piers Anthony (the author of this book), life has gotten a lot better for Jenny (who is now an adult). This book was the first of many to feature Jenny Elf, right up through the most current Xanth novel (Pet Peeve). I would highly recommend this book to anyone who knows how to read (and it's great incentive to learn how to read for those who are illiterate).

I liked the title of this book so much that I used it as part of my dog's registered name.
