Movie Description Widely banned when it was released, this horror classic features a young Charles Laughton and a wild-haired Bela Lugosi in the film based on the H.G. Wells novel THE ISLAND OF DR. MOREAU. After being shipwrecked, a young man winds up on a mysterious island populated by a mad scientist intent on transforming animals into men, and serving as their God, with the injunction: "What is the law? No spill blood! Are we not men?" A genuinely unsettling classic.
