Iron Man (Blu-ray Disc, 2008, Ultimate Edition; 2-Disc Set)

I have to admit that I'm a comic book guy. I'll eventually go and either see or rent most of the comic book flick's that come out.

When I went to go watch Iron Man I knew the history of the character and I used to read some of the comic books. I wasn't expecting much and I thought the movie would be around the same caliber as Daredevil.

I must say I was blown away by this movie and by this disk. The update of the character to be captured in a "desert warfare" by "militants in caves" brings the movie into today's reality.

The choice of Downey Jr. as a billionaire playboy is also awesome. :) He brings Tony Stark that arrogant quality with the puppy dog eyes that makes it work!

The movie is great and easy to follow. We can relate to the character because they are not some kid with super powers but a guy who suddenly develops a soul and has the resources to do something about it!

The surprise ending after the credits is also awesome. :)

Non stop action, blu ray picture and sound is unbelievable! Definantly get this movie if you have a blu ray player and HDTV!

It was supposed to be a 2-Disc Set. I only received one disc. The quality is fine. Great price and worth it even with only one disc.

Great Movie. A must own DVD. This movie is great on blue ray. Wow. I can watch it over and over and over. If you don't own you have to get it. It look great on Blue ray. Amazing picture.

this is the second blu-ray version of a good movie I have been disappointed with.the blu-ray conversion seems to vary GREATLY from film studio to film studio.granted, I do view blu-ray on a very large screen,so, if there are flaws,chances are i`ll see it.-Thanks for reading-Jay

I loved the witty dialog that is presented in this feature film. It was a balanced combination of action comedy and mild drama. I would recommend watching this film at least once if not more to anyone.

I did decide to buy it because I really like the "Iron Man".I saw for first time in commercial and I liked.what I don't like from iron man is because it stop sometimes but just a second.

The details in the movie are at there best, the affect of the show and the theory, go beyond the normal hollyway style!

By buying it in blue ray the detail just pops out that much better.

I didn't recieve the product until now, it's passed more 50 days and ...I'm waiting that Paypal solve this situation....

This is by far the best super hero movie that has been made as of Fall 2009. Robert Downey Jr. is perfectly cast as Tony Stark, your new favorite protagonist.

If you are a fan of comic book heroes, you'll love Iron Man the movie. The Blu-ray is awesome; great video and audio.

I heart this movie! When I heard Robert Downey was playing the role of Tony Stark I wasn't excited to see this movie. I'm not wrong often but this was one of those times. Summer 2010 right around the corner and that means Ironman 2 is also. I'll cya in the theater!

Good Movie. Great Storyline. Excellent CGI!!! Must have. Story about tony starks and how he became iron man. this is probably an intro to a trilogy. cant wait for the sequel.

It's a BluRay disk, and was very cheap, I played it and liked it. The only concern i had was that it took a while to receive it because it came from China, but I did get it.

Okay, first off if you own a Web Enabled Blu-ray player like a PS3, you're going to have to wait a long time before you can watch this Blu-ray after you pop it in. Why? Some pinhead executive at the movie studio/blu-ray production house thought it would be cute to require you to download some stupid software you're probably not going to use for "extra features" BEFORE you can even get to the main menu. This means that each time I pop this Blu-ray into a new player, like if I take it to a friend's house, I'm going to have to tell my friend(s): okay let's just wait an hour then we can watch the movie. This is completely and totally absurd. I hope whoever decided this was a good idea gets fired.

After about an hour and a half, I was able to watch this movie though. It's a really great movie. It's right up there with WALL*E and The Dark Knight. It has a very fun comic book feel to it, while not being absurdly stupid. If you can suspend your disbelief for 120 some odd minutes, it's a great ride.

Robert Downey Jr. is a great Tony Stark. When I first heard he was cast as Iron Man, I thought "yeah right! This movie's gonna suck." But I was very wrong. He pulls off the ladies man/billionaire playboy/hot shot role very well. But this is only half of the movie: The other half: Iron Man action scenes are just flat out cool. The poses/angles they choose and CGI work are all great. This is a first rate production.

Also, I didn't know who his assistant was before the credits rolled but she looked familiar (Turns out it was Gwyneth Paltrow) and she made a really interesting character too, for a supporting role. You even have Jeff ("The Dude") Bridges in there doing a great job playing Stark's second in command.

Oh, and when the credits roll, don't turn off the movie. There's a little scene after all the credits that fans of the comics and fans of this movie shouldn't miss.


Summary:
The Blu-Ray gets a 1 star for the incompetence of whomever decided it was a good idea to make people download something before they could even see the main menu.

The Movie Gets 5 Stars for great execution - cast/acting, storyline, effects, and action scenes. Dare I say: This is the best Marvel Comics movie to date.

I am not much of a fan of the recent Marvel movies but this is the best one since Spider Man 2 with a great performance from Robert Downey Jr.

Awesome movie. It was great to see that when they finally made a feature film for iron Man, it wasn't a cheesey, campy, low budget film. It was well made and the acting was awesome. Everyone in the film did a fantastic job with their roles. The special effects were great and exciting. Robert Downey Jr. should be able to get several sequals with this one.

I love blu ray high def as it is and I decided to buy two of my favorite movies that have been release recently .

I would rank the quality and detail in this movie to how I felt about the Matrix series years ago. Theres a lot of fast action shots that have amazing details. I was impressed with the sound quality and explosions. This is a must for surround sound systems.
