Introduction to Electrodynamics by David J. Griffiths (1998, Hardcover, Subsequent Edition)

It is a pretty rigorous text, not too much extra shown, but it has helpful tables in the front and back of the book

Lots of examples with clear and consise explanations. The book goes through a fairly logical exploration of the subject matter. However it would have been nice to cover Maxwell's equations sooner in the text. We actually skipped to the subject matter.

Griffiths makes electrostatics, electrodynamics, magnetostatics and magnetodynamics seem so simple. One practically did not need to attend lectures if one simply read the text. An excellent main textbook or complimentary text. Great even for those without a major physics background

This book is well-written with workout example problems. Explanations are clear. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to have a strong understanding of E&M.

This is a great book. Specially because of the way Griffiths explains things, he's not teaching you physics, he's chatting with you about physics. Besides the friendly language this book has a lot of solved problems which help a lot with understanding difficult concepts. I think that this is one of the best books on electromagnetism along with Purcell's "Berkeley Physics Course vol. 2: Electricity and Magnetism" and "Electromagnetism: Principles and Aplications" bye Paul Lorrain and Dale Corson.

I bought this book as the required text for a college course in Electromagnetism. It is avery clear, well-developed introduction to the subject that is clearer than, say, Griffiths but also not so hard as, say, Jackson. It also has good problems that are easy to work through on your own, if you are so inclined.

This book is really nice, and is really well explained.
It looks worse than the expensive editon but the content is exactly the same.
When I bought the book the seller said me that I'll recieve the books in 1 month, and them arrived in less than 2 weeks (using the cheapest way of shipping).

This book has everything that I need in a book. It explains everything with a lot of examples. So definitely this is a good book.

Excellent book. Although the topic is very difficult, Griffiths doesn't try to complicate it further with complex, formal language. Instead, he tries to break the material into simpler terms. There's a reason this book is one of the most commonly used for E+M classes.

it is the textbook for physics 321/421 in SFU. and the content is very organized and clear. examples and problem sets are enganed close to the text

It's much smaller than the US edition, but on good paper, so it saves room and is much lighter than my classmates' books. Chinese writing on front and back covers, but nothing differing from the other books inside. Since physics books are typically black and white anyway, I would much prefer this little text to the bulky US edition even if it weren't cheaper. Very satisfied.

I needed the book for school, a good book for electricity and magnetism for college student and the was a relatively good deal

I somewhat disliked it because I was expecting the hardcover edition, but received the paperback edition instead.

The problem sets and chapters are exactly the same as US hardcover version, but the price is a lot less. This comes in paperback which makes it easier to carry in your backpack. The book is published by pretice hall of India, titled east economy edition.

There was a mistake the semester before I needed this book. We were told by the university that we didn't need a book, but the first day of class we were asked if we purchased our textbook. I needed something fast, and I was one of the first people to get this book in my class. I also got one of the best prices for a brand new book.
The book came in very good condition. The only issue I had was the post office shoved the book into my tiny little apartment mailbox.

Everything was good, the prize of delivery, the conditions of the book, and of course, the price of it.

I am using this book for a junior level course. I like the straightforward approach presented by the book. The author lays everything out in an easy to read manner. I like the book. But this is the only electrodynamics book I have ever seen. So there may be others out there...
