Well written by an expert, but dated.

You will enjoy this book if you are interested in some of the earliest analysis of Native American art, pottery, jewelry and weaving. The graphic plates are minimal, but very good as far as they go. More valuable is the narrative explanation regarding the relationship of Native Americans to the world as seen through their art and crafts.
While the analysis is culturally outdated and seems somewhat stilted to a modern taste, for the historically minded it is a fascinating glimpse into early twentieth century views and knowledge of American Indian Art.
