Album Notes Personnel includes: Anne Murray, Jann Arden, Bryan Adams. All tracks have been digitally mastered using HDCD technology. In her 30-year career, Canadian superstar Anne Murray has released no fewer than seven collections of her hits, but strangely, she's never released a live album. AN INTIMATE EVENING WITH ANNE MURRAY...LIVE attempts to correct that oversight. Recorded in 1996 and 1997 in Canada and California, AN INTIMATE EVENING... provides a good overview of Murray's career, from early hits like "Snowbird," to mid-period smashes like "You Needed Me," to a medley of standards from her 1993 album "Croonin'." Murray also brings out two fellow Canadians--Jann Arden and Bryan Adams--for collaborations. Her duet with Adams, "What Would It Take," is a highlight, and the most energetic moment on a CD comprised mostly of ballads. Overall, the CD does live up to its name--many of the songs are presented in stripped-down versions, and Murray's between-song manner is relaxed and joking. For true Anne Murray fans, this CD is a rare chance to hear their favorites in the warmth of a live setting.
