Interview with the Vampire is a movie adaptation of the Anne Rice novels. It was released in 1994 and it is still as incredible of a movie today as it was then.

The movie follows the vampires Lestat and Louis as they come to terms with what they are. The movie is taken from the point of view of Louis telling an interviewer all about his life since he was bitten by the vampire Lestat. It is an awe-inspiring movie and a true thriller.

The number of stars in this movie also provides you to the quality of it: Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, Kirsten Dunst, Antonio Bandaras, and Christian Slater are just a few.

I was not at all interested in anything related to vampire's when I bought the book INTERVIEW WITH A VAMPIRE. I wanted to read it after seeing an interview with Anne Rice. She wrote this book while trying to deal with the death of her 6 year old daughter from Lukemia. The book is more about what would life be like if there were no end and her searching for her own answers concerning her daughter' death than vampires( they were the vehicle she used to describe her searching). Her characters are awesome studies. It is no coincidence that one of them is a girl(played by a very young and awesomely acted by Kirsten Dunst) turned into a vampire when she was the age of Anne's daughter. I was mesmerized by it. I like the way it develops and the sympathy she draws from you for these evil laden characters. I was excited to see it brought to film,since I am a fan of film. She was against Tom Cruise playing Lestat at first. I thought the casting was perfect and was pleased with the finished product though it was much darker than the book. I bought this movie to see again because everyone in it are quite a bit older now and it has added information on the making of the film. Opra Winfrey called it the most evil movie she had ever seen. To me it is one of the most disturbing and visually realistic films I have ever seen on this subject made more evil with visual special effects( you feel like praying after you've seen it!). It should be shown every Halloween. If you don't read the book too, you will miss alot of the story. Anne Rice wrote the screenplay but the movie would have been 6 hours long if she had included everything in the book. One of the top 10 horror movies in my opinion.

I didn’t really like Tom Cruise before I saw this movie. In fact, when I heard he was playing Lestat, I was really disappointed; but I have to say, he showed me. I thought he did a great job. I read Anne Rice’s books and now can’t picture anyone else as Lestat. Brad Pitt also did a great job, not to mention Kirsten Dunst and Antonio Banderas’ breakout roles. If you like vampire movies with a bit more substance than B movies, you’ll love this.

I like this of the setting of the movie. I find it interesting to them to show how vampire conjoin together, as this is true. I also find the issue of the play, the performance very delightful. Many of vampire are these of artist. Those are from original families of France. This movie to eliminate some of horror of our kind, as it to say there is compassion for vampire sincerity in this movie. I do not like this the part of the child being portrayed as vampire. Vampire would never harm this of child. Is against all that is ancient. Only one way of child to be of vampire. To be born this way. But i find this movie refreshing, and lead actors a bit eccentric. I like this Brad Pitt, as is true, not all vampire are Black Hair.

Awsome movie, follows the book very closely, if your a fan of Ann Rice then check this out. Not scary at all just a story with sharp teeth!

I first watched this movie when I was little, and it left a huge impact on me. I must have been around 9 or 10. It not only left the impression of evil on a 10 year old mind, but it was something unique, with a great plot. I grew up always hearing of "great evil" and "legendary deeds" by those on opposing sides of faith in whatever god they chose, but never really witnessed anything remotely evil or purely selfless. While it may have been completely fictional, this movie gave me my first view into something truly evil that could at least be related to the real world. I think it just gave me a better perspective on life (a good headstart, if you will, on a wiser outlook). This is probably only true for me, but no matter who you are one thing remains true about this movie, it has AWESOME re-playability value. You can watch this movie like every few months and still love it.

I read the books long before the film was released. When I heard the cast I knew it was going to be a disaster. Pitt would have done a better Lestat and Cruise a better Louis but whatever Cruise wanted Cruise got - can't say that now though! The one performance that really surprised me was Kirsten Dunst as Claudia. She was really good! Thinking about it now I am even more surprised since she now plays the same characters and she cannot seem to be able to play anyone but herself.

Beautifully shot, the story is better than the script. It was slow and boring in parts - never thought Anne Rice could be made to be boring. Not really recommended but worth a rental if you're a fan of any of the actors or wish to see an adaptation of Interview.

Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt are 2 of my favorite actors from the last 15 years. They both nailed their parts in this movie. Some of my friends have said that if you read the book, that the movie version doesn't do it justice. I haven't read the book, but I'd have to say that this is my favorite vampire movie, with Lost Boys and John Carpenter's Vampires being close behind. I recently bought this movie and was pleasantly surprised to see how good of an actress Kirsten Dunst is even at this young age. Maybe if you've read the book you'll be let down, but I see no reason otherwise why anyone who loves vampires movies won't truly enjoy this movie.

Whether you are a fan of Anne Rice, vampires, or Brad Pitt, this movie is excellent! Recommended Movie to anyone who enjoys these things.

This is an original! I bought this movie for our 14 year old daughter because her and her friends were so into the new movie TWILIGHT. I wanted to show her one of the great original vampire movies. And they were so impressed!!! To see the iconic stars in this movie was unbelievable. I loved the book! I love the movie! It is one that everyone has to have in their movie collection. I have the VHS, and now the DVD. You can't go wrong watching and buying this movie. It's out of this world, literally.

Tom Cruise Great as Lestat!! Movie is very much like the book.

Not as great as Queen of the Damned, but damn good! A good bit of action and romance, also fantasy-like. Would definitely recommend to a friend, even a Twilight fanatic.

This movie is one of the best vampire movies out there. Great actors in it and awesome story. The only fault I saw in the whole thing is not telling more of the story, this could have easily been a 3 hour movie and still be awesome. Vampire lovers should add this to their collection!

i love brad pitt and tom cruise. cruise plays a great lestat and i believe this is the best one in the series.

I had lost my wife in childbirth, and she and the infant had been buried less than half a year. I would have been happy to join them. I couldn't bear the pain of their loss. I longed to be released from it. I wanted to lose it all... my wealth, my estate, my sanity. My invitation was open to anyone. To the whore at my side. To the pimp that followed. But it was a vampire that accepted it.

Like my title implies, I do not love this film but it was good and my girlfriend seemed to really like it (of course she likes vampire stuff like Twilight books and so on). If you like the idea of vampires then you should like this movie. It is shown through the eyes of a vampire about his life like the movie title suggests it is just an Interview with the Vampire. All in all I would give it an 80% because I think more people might like it a little more than I did but it is certainly worth watching, its not an action movie though so don't expect that.

A different view on vampirism, a city dwelling kind of vampire who enjoys the good life. Based on one of Anne Rice's several excellent books. Great acting by both Banderas, Pitt and Cruise. A pity they didn't produce any of the other books in this quality.

Very disappointed. The DVD is all scratched up and stops playing at several points during the movie. It should have never been sold to anyone.

This is an Awesome Dvd,I love Vampires and all that creepiness.This is 1 of the greatest horror flick,Plus the characters nobody could go wrong.I really enjoy this movie.

Absolutely one of the best Vampire movies of all times. The actors and performances are excellent and you cant leave your seat from the start. I wanted this DVD because I consider it a MUST HAVE for my library . If you want quality acting and entertainment then this one is the way to go.

I have always loved reading ann rice novels.And when interview with the vampire came out 8 years ago, I loved it. It was right on the money. I've tried buying it several times but this was a hard to find movie until i happen to catch it on ebay. It was worth every penny. I never get tired of watching Mr. Brad Pitt in any movie. Thanks again for ebay!!!
