Interview With the Vampire by Anne Rice

OK, so now Anne Rice is a Christian who writes novels about Jesus. Her son is a gay author. Rice's husband, Stan, is dead. She has severe diabetes (a disease of the blood). She claims she will write nothing but novels proclaiming the gospel of Christ. Her Vampire Chronicle novels helped to spark the Gothic movement. Todays market is absolutely infested with Vampires! If you are a Vampire connoisseur, and you have read the ancient accounts, James Malcolm Rymer, Thomas Preskett Prest, Samuel Taylor Coleridge, Sheridan Le Fanu (he wrote an 1871 lesbian vampire story, "Carmilla"), Emily Gerard, John Polidori, Bram Stoker, and Marilyn Ross-- this is your next logical stop on the list. Ohh yes, don't forget to Brian Lumley's vampires. One reason Rice's Chronicles are so popular is that they are told from the Vampire's perspective. They are a wee bit depressing, but fun stuff nevertheless. The horror aficionados can give out plenty of other names (many, many shorts out there). Keep in mind there is much Vampire Non Fiction out as well! Strange stuff.
