Green Day's "Dark" Album
I have listened to and at one point or another owned all of Green Day's albums. This is definitely one of their strongest, and comes pretty hot off the heels of their major label debut "Dookie". If Dookie is Green Day's "Apathy" album, this is definitely their "Angry" (or "Dark") album, with songs like Bab's Uvula Who, Armatage Shanks, and Stuart And The Avenue, which deal with screwing everything up, being "a loner with a catastrophic mind", and self destructive relationships (respectively).
However, their are still some lighter songs, such as Brat, which could have come straight from their debut album, and Walking Contradiction (although it's a lighter song, the lyrics carry a lot of weight on the topic of hypocrites). But with more songs like Stuck With Me, and Westbound Sign, this is Green Day with a serious attitude, and some of my personal favorites in lyrics and music. If you like Green Day at all, DO NOT pass up this album.
