A fun album that achieved some success--

Information Society's music is fun and upbeat, in a techno-dance kind of way. However, the beat never takes over the vocals of the song, so the result is a sound more like Depeche Mode (without as much depth musically or intellectually).

The band is really one of those one-hit wonders, with the song I want to "Know What You're Thinking (Pure Energy)" being the big tune of success. However, this is not the best song on the album. Other songs like "Walking Away From" are fun to listen to.

I equate this with one of those "guilty pleasures" experiences--fun and catchy, but with no real substance. Probably best added to a collection for purely nostalgic reasons.

One of the all time greatest!

When this originally came out, there really was nothing else like it. Information Society broke ground and gave the world an entirely new musical genre, which is a rare thing indeed. A must for any 1980s or electronica aficionado.

It's not in excellent condition because it is used but it plays great and over all looks good in it's apperance. It was a great price and I got the item very quickly. Overall it was a great purchase and a great
addition to my CD collection.

The most under appreciated band of the 80's and 90's

Information Society is one of the greatest bands of the 80's and 90's. They melded Geek Sheik with catchy electronic hooks, awesome samples and complexly orchestrated sequencing that put bands like Depeche Mode to shame. Because they were dubbed as "Americas answer to Depeche Mode" they didn't receive a lot of the international attention they deserved - but to categorize them as "one hit wonders" is simply false. Songs such as "Running", "Walking Away", "Think", "Peace and Love Inc.", etc. etc. were all huge hits. They recently released the album "Synthesizer" - the original line-up toured this year (great show!) and they still have a huge fan base... So don't be so quick to dismiss these guys - they're awesome!
