Good read; good reference

This books describes the inflammation pathways in the body, in a manner that keeps the subject within the grasp of the layperson. Inflammation processes contribute to a number of adverse, chronic health conditions: heart disease and some types of arthritis among them. Chilton then goes on to propose a dietary program which should greatly reduce the level of inflammation. Chilton has solid academic credentials, and further research I have done on the subject shows that he is right on the mark. Medical research on this subject goes back at least into the 1960s, and is compelling, but new data can take a long time to be accepted. Chilton puts all the pieces of the puzzle together in a convincing and readable book. If you are interested in the relationship between diet and health, this is a must read. The one shortcoming of the book is that Chilton does not discuss other dietary considerations outside of inflammation, such as mercury content in fish, pesticide residues on produce, or which cooking oils are preferred when oxidation and hydrogenation at cooking temperatures are taken into account. Nonetheless, this book has valuable information you probably won't find elsewhere.
