Already hailed as an Artist to Watch by Rolling Stone, The Exies dropped Inertia, their major-label debut, to a good bit of critical hype at the beginning of 2003 to mark the opening of a new musical year. This slick alternative album delivers a lot of promise by mixing up snippets of rock 'n' roll, punk-rock, small electronic twinges, and "emo" into a coherent, satisfying whole. The album opens, in increasingly typical fashion, with its lead single, "My Goddess." This track, like the first few to follow, showcases the band's most energetic side, with snappy, upbeat riffs and drum sections. ..
