Moving me!!!

I love how the music evokes emotion, I am a very emotionless person by nurture and I find great pleasure in music that strikes emotion in me. It's a rare find for me!!!!

Enough Inertia to become a rising star?
Review created: 01/12/03
by: punkrawka-- a member of Epinions and Advisor in Music

Pros:
Varied, energetic songwriting; several influences incorporated; solid lyrics

Cons:
Slightly gravelly vocals; short album; "Lo Fi"

Already hailed as an Artist to Watch by Rolling Stone, The Exies dropped Inertia, their major-label debut, to a good bit of critical hype at the beginning of 2003 to mark the opening of a new musical year. This slick alternative album delivers a lot of promise by mixing up snippets of rock 'n' roll, punk-rock, small electronic twinges, and "emo" into a coherent, satisfying whole. The album opens, in increasingly typical fashion, with its lead single, "My Goddess." This track, like the first few to follow, showcases the band's most energetic side, with snappy, upbeat riffs and drum sections. ..

The New 'It' Band? Hardly, The Exies Are Nothing New.
Review created: 01/14/03
by: e_burrell -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
Creeper Kamikaze and Genius stand out as good tunes

Cons:
All the rest don't.

With MTV backing their video and every single music publication singing their praises and naming them the next 'it' band, the Exies are truly on the verge of breaking it big. The question is as old as time: if the hype is there, does the talent match? After a mere thirty-five minute listen that answer is clear. On Inertia, The Exies' second (but mainstream breakthrough) album, no new ground is broken. The first single My Goddess, might have been a mid-nineties throwaway if not for the overused stutter effect (also found in The End by Linkin Park). Vocalist Scott Stevens shares the familiar...

Newton's Laws Can't Define this Inertia
Review created: 07/15/06
by: gotahemmi55 -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
Spectacular songwriting, instrumentals and musicianship. These guys are the real deal.

Cons:
Pace is too slow at times, they are at their best when rocking.

The Exies launched onto the airwaves in 2003 with lead single "My Goddess" and tons of critical backing from none other than Rolling Stone Magazine. With all that hype surrounding them, I was quick to jump on the bandwagon and purchase this album the first chance I saw it at my favorite used CD store. The Exies are a combination of several types of music ranging from pop, to alternative, to punk and even techno electronic beats mixed in as well. The album starts with the powerful My Goddess which displays some intense buzzsaw guitars and some strong distorted vocals from the raspy Scott...

 Be a GENIUS, Buy Inertia
Review created: 04/23/03
by: incuboy590 -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
Great vocals, Awsome hooks, GENIUS, and beautiful melodic metal

Cons:
ummm.... some songs become repetitive and it's a little too short.

I had wanted to buy The Exies Inertia for a long time I loved the new single My goddess. I never seemed to have the extra money. When I had finally got enough money I made a trip to Circut City and bought it. I was in for a suprise the album is produced extremley well and My Goddess is one one of the worst songs on the album. To give you an idea of how the songs stack up I will rate them on a scale of 1 to 10. 1. My goddess- This is the first song on the album. It reeks of hooks and stutter efects it somewhat reminds me of the band garbage because of its very sleek yet raw style. I would give.
