I am one of the biggest Indiana Jones fans. I love the Raiders of the Lost Ark. I was so freaking excited when they came out with another one. I bought my ticket the second they came out. I couldn't wait to go see it.

WOW, it was so dissapointing. It seemed to just drag and drag on with no story line. The ending was so dumb. Definatly not up to par with the older Indiana Jones movies.

  Indy rides again...

This is an entertaining movie. What it is not, is not nearly as fast-paced as the first, not as many lulls as the second and no Sean Connery like the third. Ford has slowed considerably in this one, but perhaps not as much as his age would have slowed anyone else. Worth watching.

Indiana Jones IV a Thrill Ride
Review created: 10/24/08(updated 11/30/08)

I truly love this film.

The fact was, there was a good bit of hype (and a script, from 1995 I believe which ended up with story credit for screenwriter Jeff Nathanson - on the new version) and I really was not sure what I could expect.

The movie itself is silly, true, a bit corny, yes, probably even implausible.

But what fun! A few scenes aside (the jungle, and the ants crawling) the movie proved to be a true roller coaster from the opening 20 seconds until the scenes near the end.

People may know what to expect, from a film made in the same genre as Doc Savage, James Bond and adventure "screen serials" or books. Most stories in the book form are much more imaginative and exciting, but the INDIANA JONES new film delivers. Delivers a thrill ride.

The DVD release did not seem of top-notch quality (and I presume the best way to view newer release films would be the popular - and superior - Blu-Ray format).

I wanted to complete the series of Indiana Jones movies with Harrison Ford, and this is a good climax to the Indy movies. Harrison Ford, though 20 years older than he was in the last Indy movie, did a great job. The use of look a likes and green screen stunt scenes was not noticeable and did not distract from the continuity of the film. The parts of Jr. and the mad Russian scientist were well acted and added significantly to the drama and action.

Good to see Karen Allen back playing her usual salty self opposite Indy. The end of the movie intimates that there might be a new younger Indy, in the character of Harrison Ford's illegitimate son by Karen Allen.

The movie was fun to watch, one that can be watched over again, and the profanity and sex were minimal.

Recommend a purchase of this for any Indy or Harrison Ford fan.

I bought the DVD because it completed my Indiana Jones DVD collection. We have enjoyed watching the movie with our family. I recently had an Indiana Jones themed birthday party for my 7 year old godchild and we used the movie as part of the party. The movie was not as good as previous Indiana Jones movies, however we enjoyed it just the same.

Indiana Jones is once again very entertaining and keeps you anxiously waiting for the next turn of events. The special effects are awesome and it is (2) hours well spent. Thanks for no vulgar language!

What do you think of Harrison Ford after watching this movie? I thought this Indiana Jones movie continued the same style as the previous trilogy and it is well worth the purchase. Although some critics say that there are some parts to this movie that are questionable, I believe the Franchise lives up to its name. It is a new original and imaginative plot that makes the Crystal Skull enjoyable. Crystal Skull loses some points because the producers could have made some improvements, but overall consider this movie for viewing pleasure if you are familiar with Indiana Jones.

The movie was good. It was just as good as the rest of the Indiana Jones movies. What made this movie good was that it closed out the life of Indiana Jones. The spin off of incorporating UFOs into the movie was also a good move.

This is a good movie, but a little too "programmed" to follow the successful script of prior efforts in the Indiana Jones line of movies. There are a couple of twists, turns, and surprises that make having the movie worthwhile if you are a long time Indy fan. If you have never seen an Indiana Jones movie it would be very good as well. It appears we now know who will carry the Indiana Jones movies into the future as Harrison Ford passes the baton.

For those of us who are true Indy fans this movie is action packed and wonderful. I love the way that they story unfolds, it does however become a bit confusing at the end. The action adventure is mixed with a bit of sci fi. I thought it was a good film, good acting and ends in such a way that there may be hope of another sequel.

Indiana Jones is good...most of the time.

I have been an Indiana Jones movie fan since I saw the first one many years ago. The adventure as well as the comic timing are what makes the Indiana Jones series so endearing for young and old. The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull will make you say “I remember that!” or “I remember them!” Which is fun because you will find yourself talking about the old movies for a few seconds and realize “Oh yeah, the movie is on.” Yes, this Indiana Jones movie is good but I was actually kind of disappointed overall. Remember when the first one came out and you were so excited about what a great movie it was and then they announced the Temple of Doom? While good, Temple of Doom wasn’t as great as the original and I kind of had that Temple of Doom feeling all over again after watching the new Indiana Jones. It seems as though Indiana Jones has that “every other generation” disease because the third Indiana Jones movie with Sean Connery was great but the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was a bit of a let down. Don’t get me wrong, I liked this new Indiana Jones movie, but it didn’t have that lasting feeling like the first and third one did. First of all it is too predictable. I won’t spoil it for you but if you want this movie to be total surprise I will tell you this…DO NOT LOOK AT THE COVER CLOSELY OR READ THE BACK OF IT AND LOOK AT THE PICTURES. I did this and said to myself “Oh my gosh, look at that…oh, I bet I know what is going to happen.” Sure enough without even watching the movie I guessed one of the “surprises” and was actually disappointed that I wasn’t surprised. You will be able to do this too if you’ve seen the older movies and accidently recognize a certain someone on the cover. Also the plot of the movie was way too linear for me. In past movies I loved it when Indiana went from one place to another gathering clues and solving the puzzle, but in Kingdom of the Crystal Skull when Indiana goes somewhere, he always finds exactly what he is looking for instead of being puzzled by what he finds. I guess Indiana is old and wise at this point to where he doesn’t have to look as hard anymore. Instead of puzzles, you have action scenes which are numerous from the moment you hit play. Yes this new movie does have its flaws but it is a great movie none-the-less. It is not as great as the original but then again, what movie ever is other than the Godfather 2. The predictability and somewhat action heavy plot keep this from being a classic. This is a must own for Indiana fans but for the rest of us that don’t have to own it…I’d say it’s a rental.

The movie is very nostalgic for fans of the first trilogy. It has all the expected action sequences of an Indiana Jones movie with much better special effects than the last three movies.

Harrison Ford Should Have Quit While He Was Ahead.

I really like Harrison Ford and Indiana Jones! However, the hype and buildup for this movie, quite frankly, let me down. The only "cool" part in the movie, was in the begining when Indy was up amongst the crates in the warehouse and we got a brief glance at the Ark Of The Covenant! Always wondered where it went! I would suggest, as others have...rent it don't buy it.
