Movie Description Originally released in two separate parts as THE MYSTERIES OF INDIA, Mr. May's film is a silent benchmark; its lavish production values and elaborate, incredibly detailed sets, complete with exotic animals, give the film an authentic look even though it was filmed entirely on a 50 acre "film city" in Germany. Written by the legendary Fritz Lang, the story is set in India, where the Maharajah of Eschnapur is bent on revenge after his beautiful wife left him for a British officer. The Maharajah then begins to build a tomb which he plans to imprison his wife in for eternity. Unfortunately for the Maharajah, one of his advisers, the yogi Ramigani, prophecies his doom if he follows through on his plan. An epic adventure crammed with amazing chases, exotic Indian festivals, and hungry tigers, THE INDIAN TOMB is one of the greatest silent spectacles ever made.
