An Inconvenient Truth by Al Gore (2007, Hardcover, Prebinding)

Vice President Al Gore's poignant green message is this book he wrote during the aftermath of the devastation of the Bush adminstration's policy's on the environment. Gore presents hard core scientific data in this text that accessible to children. Writing this text with that kind of accesiblity is one of the qualities of the book that makes it genuis.

Gore calls citizens to be be concerned about rising global temperatures because the polar icecaps are melting. He calls US citizens to be appropriately angry because US Republican leaders aren't doing nearly enough to stop the industrial waste, pollution & poisoning. The current executive adminstration's policies have empowered major institutions who are responsible for causing our weather problems. Such as hurricanes.

Gore's text details how Republican leaders have lined their pockets with our tax $$$ so that big business industrial polluters can continue to destroy the environment that all living things depend upon for survival. Gore also points out that these leaders are not simply putting our lives at risk, every living thing is suffering consequences that they are responsible for.

Our children's lives are even more at risk. Gore's texts begs the question, aren't adults supposed to take actions to protect children? If not, who is?
