An Incomplete Education by Judy Jones, William Wilson (2006, Hardcover)

A good read. Informative, funny, enlightening, well rounded, full of little known facts. Not something you want to sit back and read cover to cover. I keep it in the bathroom for those short term read sessions.

As highschool and college graduates, we probably took pride in our knowledge base and completion of a formal education. If we have a love of reading and an intellectual curiosity, however, we eventually come to realize the glaring gaps of our former curricula. Jones & Wilson's wonderful compilation of literature, philosophy, science, religious tenets, biographical sketches, synopses, and commentaries provides a delightful way of filling those gaps.

Through an easy-to-read, oftentimes cynical or humorous presentation, we discover topics and historical links we forgot years ago, as well as facts and perspectives about which we were never informed. As the authors themselves point out, no single volume can provide a reader with a world of knowledge, but having only one volume DOES leave the reader wanting a second!
