The film was a disaster, the score wasn't

This is one of the many Jerry Goldsmith efforts that surpasses by miles in quality the product for which it was composed for. "Inchon" is a memorable film score that contains all the typical Goldsmithian touches, a catchy war theme, a highly emotional love theme and a varied orchestration with a heavy use of percussion.
Intrada released a CD (that's the release you find this review written for) of the restored and expanded score about 15 years ago. They reportedly sold about 1'500 copies of it in a time span of 10 years. In 2006, Intrada reissued the complete score along with the original album version on a limited 2-CD-set. The manufactured only 1'500 copies. They sold out within a week! You should have seen the stirr it caused among the avid soundtrack collectors afterwards. And of course, it gives you an indication of the popularity of that particular film music.
It's really good!
