InFocus ScreenPlay 61md10 61 in. HDTV DLP TV

This rear-projection display packs quite a punch if you are looking for a LARGE viewing area without taking up too much space in your living room. It comes with a stand that can hold the TV level or a few feet in the air, however you prefer. It also comes with the mounting kit to attach it to the wall. And at less than 7 inches thick, why not?

The first thing I noticed with this television is how bright and clear the high-definition picture shows up. In my experience with rear-projection displays, I have never encountered a more detailed and visible viewing area than with the InFocus SP61md10. Given the massive size of the screen, that is an accomplishment worth mentioning.

I think the coolest feature offered by this item is the built in wireless internet functionality and wireless keyboard (included) that allows you to surf the web right from the couch. Although the browser did not have the full range of animated web graphics support that I am used to on my PC, I quickly forgot about any of that once my girlfriend started shopping online at Victoria's Secret. At 61 inches, you can imagine how well you can make out the.. uhh.. the ..COLOR of the fabric that.. she would be purchasing. whew. ;)

Another added feature that many will find a great convenience in is the fact that this TV has built in cable box functionality, including HDTV. Yep, this puppy is HDTV ready straight out the box. Although that is becoming more common these days, I believe the majority of TV's on the market still require an HD cable box to get the added picture quality. With this model you do not even need a cable box, period. It has everything built in. It was nice to finally get rid of that big ol' Comcast box and save the $5 rental fee every month (yep.. they charge you for that thing).

My only real qualm was the price tag. At nearly $5,000 I ended up getting a little more TV than I had set out for. But I'd say the same for any television that cost more than a small car. But if you catch it at the right time, and with a little luck, I am sure you can get that price down a good deal anyway.

Overall, this is an item that, once purchase, you will forever wonder how you were able to survive without one. The bang-for-your-buck is pretty high in comparison to what is available, and at over 5 FEET from corner to corner you will not find a better priced TV with this many options. Believe me, I've looked.
