Synopsis The deceit and closed mouths of family and friends make it difficult to discover the fate of two missing girls in this debut thriller. Everyone wants to connect the Duluth, Minnesota, disappearance of Rachel Deese, a gorgeous but incredibly amoral 17-year-old girl, with that of Kerry McGrath, a teenager from the same high school who disappeared 14 months previously. Police lieutenant Jonathan Stride has his doubts that such a link exists, but it will take three years before he is able to learn the ugly truth about what happened to each girl.
