Without a doubt, Pink has come a long way since we first met her in 2000. She started out as an R&B princess with fuschia hair, but she soon discovered that the hip-hop beats and schmaltzy ballads didn't really suit her. So she morphed into a ballsy chick with a rockier sound on Missundaztood. Later, in 2003, she teamed up with Rancid's Tim Armstrong and became a semi-punk b***h. Now, after a 3-year hiatus during which she got married to motocross star Carey Hart, Pink may have come to terms with many of her inner demons, but that doesn't mean that she's going to shut up and that marriage has tamed her. She's still an in-your-face kind of chick with lots of attitude, and that's how we love her. With her new effort I'm Not Dead, she continues to experiment new styles, which has kind of become her trademark over the years : Pink won't be categorized. This time, she tries her hand at folk, but that doesn't mean that she does it successfully. "The One that Got Away" is just plain boring, and her collaboration with the Indigo Girls, "Dear Mr. President", is not heartfelt enough to be convincing, not to mention that it's a tad unoriginal (anti-Bush songs are plentiful nowadays, and there's only so much you can do when taking jabs at the president). Pink is at her best when playing the vindicative b***h that doesn't take herself seriously like on the extremely fun track "Cuz I can". The mid-tempo, R&B-tinged ballad "I Got Money Now", where she denounces materialism, is equally satisfying. Overall, I'm Not Dead is a fun but flawed album, like Pink herself. Still, there is no one quite like her, and that's all part of her appeal. After 3 albums, it seems that has found a style all her own, but don't expect her to stop changing and experimenting.

The best pop rock female singer out there
Review created: 07/06/09

She has got everything, the looks, the attitude, but more importantly the talent (she writes her stuff) and the voice. And wow, what a voice! Forget about those wailing high-pitched shrieking ... out there.

P!nk has a multi-level pop bluesy voice that kicks. She has a wide range, in the lows and in the highs, and can be compared to Stevie Nicks, Amanda Marshall, Skin (Deborah Dyer of Skunkanansie)... A powerful mixture of rock, blues, folk and pop powerful and tight voices.

I'm not dead is, in my opinion, her best record as of now, a bit stronger that her last one Funhouse, which is also very good.

There is a perfect mix of slow melodic strong-subject songs, Nobody knows and Dear Mr. President, and in your face pop rock anthems, U and Ur hand, Long way to happy (wow!) and the title song.

You should really listen to it if it's not already done.

Cheers! Hail to the queen of pop.

i love this cd. i knew i was not going to be disappointed, afterall it is PINK. but besides the normal songs that she has on the radio right now, the song she did with the indigo girls to the president of the u.s. (bush) is eye-awakening. most of the cd is uplifiting and fun to dance to but i am glad she had serious songs also including the extra track she did with her father about the vietnam vets. an extremely moving song. major kudos.
the flip side is the dvd where you can hear her whole cd in surround sound, and see the video for STUPID GIRLS. and pink reason for writing such a song.
can not wait for her new cd out in nov 2008

  Excellent CD from Great Artist
Review created: 08/08/08

Excellent songs. Especially love Dear Mr. President and Conversations With My 13 Year Old Self. Also some great dance songs on here. I highly recommend this cd! I got it specifically for Dear Mr. President, and got a great collection of songs. Also, it's a dual disc, so there are extras included. Lucked out with this version, because it is NOT censored, which, if you've never heard the particular song, can make things a little confusing. A+!
