The Illustrated Man by Ray Bradbury (1989, Paperback, Reissue)

This books would normally have been put together as just a collection of short stories by any other other. However, being Ray Bradbury, he designed an outer shell to the book that weaves them all together, which makes it all the more interesting.

In all reality its a stream of unrelated short stories, most of them in true Bradbury sci-fi with a small hint of religion sprinkled on top. They are brought together by the main story, which is that of a man with tattoos covering his entire body. An onlooker stares at this man's body art and as he stares into any one particular image, it comes to life and tells the next short story.

It's a genius way to bring his short works together and shows much more imagination and craft than simply throwing them all together in a book titled, "Bradbury's Short Stories, Vol. 1" as any other author would have.
