| Synopsis IF I DID IT, O. J. Simpson's supposedly hypothetical account of how he would have committed the double homicide he was acquitted of, is one of the most bizarre, outrageous, and divisive books of the 21st century, and is considered by many to be nothing less than a confession. Simpson describes exactly how he would have gone about murdering Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman that fateful day in 1994, even down to the details of how he "thinks" the blood would have splattered. Widespread criticism of the publication led to Rupert Murdoch's NewsCorp (of which Regan Books was an imprint) canceling the book and eventually to the termination of superstar publisher Judith Regan. In 2007, a Florida court awarded the rights to the book to the Goldman family, as part of the unpaid restitution that Simpson owed them. As a result, a repackaged version of the book has finally been released, this time including exclusive commentary by the Goldman family, and featuring the new subtitle: CONFESSIONS OF THE KILLER.
