This book touches the heart, mind, & soul! A friend's daughter got me this book as a gift. And it certainly was that, a wonderful gift! As Ida B's life unfolded page by page, it become not a book but a little girl that I became emotionally attached to. I found myself laughing and crying throughout. This book is a precious book for any girl to have - of any age! Ida B is one for the ages. Katherine Hannigan is a talented author!

I recommend purchasing this book for yourself, your mother, your daughter, your aunt, anyone whom you care for!

Ida B. is a story about a precocious, stubborn, intelligent young girl who is wise beyond her years. She views life differently than her peers, and has a relationship with all aspects of nature. Events that come into play cause Ida B. to re-evaluate all that is important to her. I read this book for a college literature class, and was surprised at how entertaining it was. Our literary group was able to identify with Ida B., laugh with Ida B., and cry with Ida B. It is most definitely a MUST READ!
