Lolly IS home to close her family home AND RUNS into 2 crazed robbers~ along comes the sheriff's son ~ Gabriel McQueen a Military HUNK looking for the girl he never got along with and resents having to rescue ~ from an ICE storm but runs into the the stangers holding her captive~


Lolly only has only 'bad memories' of the Maine community she was raised is home to close up the old family home and sell it and get on with her life~ on the verge of a HUGE ICE storm she wants to collect her stuff and get to town~ but 2 robbers full of another kind of ICE~ (meth) are out to rob her and hold her captive~ after nearly escaping a rape LOLLY is secured in her room~ she wants to get away "alive"~ Gabriel McQueen the sheriff's son is on his way UP the mountain to her HOUSE~~ why? he has NO love lost for LOLLY who ONLY made his hair stand on end~ from their high school 'fights'~ He has no fond memories of her but he LOVED to torment her by calling her "LOLLY POP" LOL~ and now he has to save her butt from an ice storm just "grand" ~on arriving~ he sees 2 armed people in the living room getting higher than a kite on "METH" and he quickly moves to get Lolly out of her upstairs room and soon Gabe and Lolly are slding and shivering across the ice to escape the two crazed people who would LOVE to kill them. Now they are the 'HUNTED' ~ Linda Howard did it well~ 208 pages but she packed a fast paced chase and pursuit with the out of control robbers. We meet crazy Niki and her man Darwin who feel no pain on drugs and like the Terminator keep going and going~ this flows along very well~ a chase in the dark and hide and seek with people with guns and a fight where it takes both LOLLY & GABE just to survive it~ NO one makes better Psycho NUTS than Howard and Niki and Darwain~are two of Howards better ones~ I read it in about 5 hours~ did not drag~ I give it a 10 out of 10 for excellent fast paced plot~ 'very entertaining' and LOLLY is a nick name but her real name is Lorelei~ I would go with LOLLY too~ "think" Cover of Night with Up Close and Dangerous and this is close~ and OH yes how do a FROZEN COUPLE WARM UP? why a GOOD hot shower and they need to "conserve water and body heat so " they shower together~ which of course leads to a HOT steamy sexy encounter~ ......read the book~ it a great way to 'warm up' a cold evening. ICE is one of her best in several years. I just wish it were longer~Guess I will just read it twice~
