Four years after PYROMANIA, Def Leppard were a comparative write-off. Dismissed by critics, seemingly dogged by bad luck, with drummer Rick Allen losing an arm in a car accident, HYSTERIA had to be an album to turn heads. In retrospect, it sounded like the first true hard rock record for the CD generation. Ambitious arrangements and remixes on songs such as "Rocket" and "Armaggedon It," a crisp single in "Animal," and a dense paean to love with "Love Bites," all bets were off. Def Leppard had created an intriguing language of ideas that still speaks volumes more than a decade on. Four years after PYROMANIA, Def Leppard were a comparative write-off. Reviews Hysteria, Def Leppard's 4th CD, released in 1987 was yet another success with 12 tracks starting with Woman, Rocket, Animal and more. Unfortunately, the band was saddened of the passing of their guitarist Steve Clarke. But, as always, the band hung tough and have released other great CD's such as Retroactive, Adrenalize, Slang, Euphoria, X and a compelation of songs from various artists. Enjoy this great CD from Britain's rock group Def Leppard and relive the year it was, the 80's. Review ID: 10000000007566276 Was this review helpful? Report this review Review created: 06/07/08 by: There are about 6 songs I really like on this CD, however on I-Tunes, I was unable to buy just the songs or even the full CD, I love my I-Pod, and my husband loves the cd's for his vehicle, so I bought the CD, put the songs on my I-Pod, and my husband put the cd in his vehicle... Just listening to the songs brings back so many memories... Such GREAT CD :) Review ID: 10000000007473574 Was this review helpful? The music and the lyrics are excellent! It may be from the 80's but it still stands up to most music from today. If you never listened to Def Leppard before, this is the cd to buy! It was my favorite album back then, and still my favorite even now! Review ID: 10000000007215371 Was this review helpful?
