HypnoBirthing The Mongan Method by Marie Mongan (2005, Package)

This book was offered at our hospital as a class you could take for $250 for 5 sessions. Needless to say we did not sign up for the class - it was way to expensive! So we got the book which comes with the CD for much less and found it to be plenty sufficient! In fact we bought a second copy for our brother and sister-in-law for their birth of their son. Recommended for first time and VBAC deliveries most definately! Choosing a natural birth is both beneficial for mother and baby not only physically but also emotionally! Happy Birthing!

The product was exactly as I expected. I wanted the book with a new cd to practice for my baby's birth. I got two brand new cd's a book, and a movie. I was very pleased with the purchase and everything was in the condition I expected them to be in.

This book has been a such a help in calming my nerves and helping me focus on preparing for the birth of my first born. It will be one I'll keep in my library for future reference.

When I was pregnant with my second child a friend of mind recommended this book. I signed up for the class and used the book and CD at home to practice. This method of childbirth is very empowering, what you are going through is natural and doesn't need all of the medical intervention!! My prebirth registration stated that I would be using the hypnobirth method and was treated differently from the very start. I was 7-8 cm when I walked to my hospital room (I didnt want a wheel chair, I was fine!!) and my second child was born about 1 1/2 hour later, naturally! I am now getting ready to have my third child and have NO worries or anxiety about my labor and delivery! CHECK THIS BOOK OUT, you only have pain and anxiety to lose!

Bought this book at the advice of a friend who had used the method in her delivery. Although I did opt for an epidural, I listened to the CD's during early labor which helped me through some larger contractions and helped me to tune out all that was going on in my labor and delivery room. The method really focuses on relaxation and was incredibly helpful to me during labor.

I read this book in preparing for the birth of my baby. It explains professionally, but not in all the confusing medical jargon what happens during labor and delivery and walks you through how to take the pain out of childbirth. The CD that comes with the book is excellent quality and really works! I always fall into deep hypnosis within minutes of starting the CD. I haven't had my baby yet but I am confident in this book and the Hypnobirthing method.

This is a wonderful book that helped me have a quick and intervention free labor! I really learned how to relax my body and my mind to prepare for labor. This was my first child and in total my labor lasted about 8 1/2 hours! When I arrived at the hospital I was already 8-9 cm dilated. I was only there for about an hour 1/2 before he was born. I had no drugs during labor and I am so excited that I really did it without them! This is a very empowering book. It will help you get rid of your fears and misconceptions about childbirth!

It is a good book with a lot of information and ideas for those who are looking toward a more natural birth. If for nothing else the relaxation techniques in it are great.

I purchased this book because i have read it and decided that i needed it in my personal collection. This is the VERY best book that i have read on giving birth. It has helped me to explore my own thoughts and feelings on giving birth. It has also helped me to understand birth more completely...emotionally, physically, and spiritually.
In the course of my studies to become a certified Dula, this has been the best book that i have read yet. I would recommend it to anyone thinking of having a baby, natural birth or not. It will help you explore your own thoughts and feelings, more than you thought possible.

This book answered so many questions that I wished I'd had the answers to for my first two births. This is a book I would recomend to anyone to buy and a the very least check out from the library. Every pregnant woman should be required to read this book. Very informational without being too texty!
