  Well worth reading...

This is a phenomenal book about the "unmentionable" world of mental illness.
It is very well written and is very insightful and a good read.
Where most people "hide" family stories like this, Michael Greenberg chose to share the experience. Bravo to him and his family for overcoming a most difficult period of their lives, and sharing it with the world.

Honest, riveting portrait of mental illness
Review created: 02/03/09

Greenberg is a fluid writer who lays bare the honest and frightening experience of seeing family members through mental illness / psychotic breaks. I felt as if a familiar friend were telling me the exact truth, though painful, of a very personal and often marginalized illness. The reader - whether having experienced something similar or not - will come away with respect and compassion for Greenberg, his brother, his daughter and the thousands of others who face mental illness as a fact of life.
