Movie Description Former football star Fred Dryer starred for many years as HUNTER, television's answer to DIRTY HARRY. Hunter is a renegade police detective who does anything it takes to bring down those criminals who prey on the innocent, provoking the ire of his superiors. They decide to team him with Dee Dee McCall, a beautiful female cop who's just as single minded and tough to get along with as Hunter himself. HUNTER combined hard-hitting action (many critics in the 1980s, while the show was initially broadcast, criticized its violence) with mispaired-buddy comedy reminiscent of the LETHAL WEAPON series. Created by Frank Lupo, who also conceived THE A-TEAM, HUNTER was one of the most popular television shows of the 1980s and one of the most successful cop shows of all time. THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON contains all 19 episodes, with guest stars such as John Amos, Dennis Franz, Brian Dennehy, and Ed O'Neill.
