The Hunger (DVD, 2004)

Excellent cult classic at a great price, and very high quality DVD. I have to say that I'm a huge David Bowie fan and always have been. tHIS IS ONE OF HIS BEST PERFORMANCES, AND UNLIKE MOST OF OUR ROCK HEROES HES ALSO A BRILLIANT ACTOR. a MUST HAVE FOR ALL FANS. also A REAL COOL CAMEO AT THE BEGINNING BY THE LEGENDARY GOTH ROCK BAND "bAUHAUS".

I first saw this movie when it was newly released. I loved the Cult like flavor and after many years of never seeing it on late night tv, I decided I should own it. I still enjoy it's Dark Moody Delivery and it's one of a kind look at Vampire like story lines. I have yet to see David Bowie NOT do a good job of acting. It's a movie I have now added to my collection of classic Movies made in my lifetime. A movie worth sitting back some late evening and just enjoying in the dark.

I once owned the VHS version but someone stole it. I once had the soundtrack on vinyl, but it, too, was stolen. So I finally decided that I must own the DVD. "The Hunger" has always been in my all-time Top 10. Shot with gothic perfection and chock full of sexual undertones, it captures the cast & crew at their very best. We all want to live forever, but this film makes me happy to survive this long. The commentary by Tony Scott & Susan Sarandon is very detailed and informative. The opening sequence, featuring Bauhaus performing their classic "Bela Lugosi's Dead", is worth the price of admission alone. Superb!

When this movie first appeared on the horror horizon, it was a breath of fresh air. No more dark castles and dirty dungeons...no sir...This movie made it classy to be tall, pale and vampritic. With a "killer" cast this movie dares to make you think...Savor "The Hunger" for it's stark, almost industrial atmosphere. Beautiful in it's dark and detached approach to the world of the undead.....

This is a stand alone movie amongst other adult vampire movies,even by todays standards. 'David Bowie's' acting has never been great but he does a good stint in this.( I can say that coz I'm English, we all love him but know he can't act)!! And got to love the beautiful 'Catherine Deneauve', probably the best thing to ever come out of France (again I can say that coz I'm English..lol). The sound track is Bauhaus which gives it a decidedly eerie feel and adds a great modern touch to a timeless setting. Any movie buff should be proud to have this in their collection,and if you don't... hang your head in shame Sir... The cinematography is superb. Made in 1983 this movie was beyond it's time. If you don't like vampires don't worry it's not all this film has to offer, you will still love the tragedy of lost loves and beautiful images. This is a masterpiece. '"Do IT...Do IT".. Treat yourself and show your talent for having a great movie collection.

Never have been into the whole vampire thing, but this movie is beautiful. Not alot of dialogue, but hauntingly beautiful music compositions. Love Catherine Deneuve, Susan (Miss Wissse) Sarandon, and David Bowie, (he can act). Any movie collection deserves this film classic, you won't regret it. The only dislike is that no one has re-mastered it in even stereo, much less surround sound, PLEASE someone, do this!

This movie was good.. if you like soft-core porn or a movie who's only purpose was to see David Bowie tongueing some chicks breasts, or something with no plot other than to lead up to a lesbian vampire sex scene. Over all, it was a terrible movie that never should have been made.

The product was shipped quickly and was what I expected it to be. It was a DVD and I enjoyed watching it. I am very happy with the purchase and the seller.

I saw the movie when it came out the first time and always wanted to have it in my collection. I'm amazed about Susan Sarandon performance and loved this "thriller noir" of the 80's.

THIS MOVIE IS COMPLICATED! BUT IT IS SO BEAUTIFUL BECAUSE OF THE CAST. IF YOU HAVE A WEAK STOMACHE IT IS PROBABLY NOT FOR YOU.IT IS ONE OF MY FAVORITES JUST BECAUES OF THE HAIRSTYLES OF DENUVE, SHE IS LIKE THE EVITA PERONE OF VAMPIRES.YOU NEED TO WATCH IT A FEW TIMES TO REALLY GET THE STORYLINE BECAUSE OF THE SLEEPING<>AGEING SITUATION.BUT IF ANYTHING IT IS AT LEAST REALLY COOL!
