I read the book first, which was fantastic in 1973. I saw the movie in theaters and on Beta.Now I have the dvd.
Directed by: Edward Dmytryk who also did the Caine Mutiny and Mirage.
What would you do, if you were a regular person, going to and from work every day doing what Dad's do best. Then one day you go to work, come home; and find that Terrorists have come into your home, and killed your family?
This is a synopsis of what may happen to you or anyone else you may know.
George Kennedy (cahill us marshall,airport 75) stars as John Kinsdale, a top Computer Programmer in Italy assigned to the NAITO Unit to help with war games and strategies along with Authrur Franz the General of the Base and Sir John Mills who is MacAllister a fellow programmer from the USA and then there is Rita Tushingham who is the psychologist Janice. She likes John, more than she lets on, and wants to help Kinsdale after his family is murdered by terrorists from New York City who sympathise with a Palastinian who is a naturalized citizen of the US. Along with his cohorts, they slowly go around and kill American famalies in Italy who work at the installation and live off base. Using the guise of a a nanny (also a cohort) the men come in with guns silenced they shoot the mother and father and the children in the family.Kinsdale, through modern technology of the computer and terminals, slowly does what the Local Police cannot do. He gets access to top secret information on the terrorists that the US is already watching and brings the US and Raf Vallone Italian Police Investigator who is always one step behind Kinsdale. And the Military together in one great big conference, but not before the Terrorists make their ultimatium known to the world.
This was filmed in Rome, and Naples Italy and at pinewood studios in London England.
