A not so fun, overly technical read

I am not a neuroscience lass, and I know that this is not my area of expertise, however, I dont think a book should be written in such technical terms. This book has entirely too much jargon, and I found myself constantly re-reading sections just to understand all the vocabulary used. There are good concepts and I'm sure to a person who actually enjoys this stuff, it would be more helpful and informative. Not the book to have if you are, like me, a newbie to the neuroanatomy field. In some of the pictures it is difficult to see what is being pointed to, but there are some good diagrams. I also have the study guide to accompany this book, however, this has yet to be helpful to me except that it includes page numbers next to the answers so that I can go back and figure out where the information was retrieved from. Another annoying feature of this set is that there are some terms that are mentioned in the study guide, but are no where to be found in the text book.... strange. Just a word to the wise I have had to use numerous web sites and at least other 2 text books to help me actually understand the topics covered in this book.
