How to Draw and Paint Fairies by Hazel Harrison (2005, Paperback)

As a fantasy artist, I am always on the look-out for instructionals to help me advance in my work. Being familiar with Linda Ravenscroft's beautifully detailed fairy and fantasy pieces, I was excited to find that she has to her credit the publication:"How to Draw and Paint Fairies...From finding inspiration to capturing diaphanous detail, a step-by-step guide to fantasy art."

This brilliant book is chock-full of gorgeous paintings (by the author and other talented artists of fantasy), full color photos of supplies and techniques and is written in a way that can be understood by even the most green of beginners.

Whether you are a watercolorist, pencil artist or work with acrylics, pastels or wax crayons, there is something to be learned from this wonderful book. In my opinion an absolute MUST have for every fantasy artist from beginner to the most advanced.

This is a fantastic book, Loads of informative and helpful illustrations and well constructed to ease your reading. If you are an accomplished artist, a student or just someone who loves faries this book is well worth the price. It has the usual basic information regarding materials and basic techniques but well put so even if your more then familiar you will enjoy reading it and probably get something new out of the material. One of the best instruction books I have seen in awhile.
