How the West Was Won [Box] by Led Zeppelin (CD, May-2003, 3 Discs, Atlantic USA)

This is one of the few live albums I can listen to without ever skipping a single track. It's simply amazing. Led Zeppelin's live style was much different than they're studio albums, that's what makes this great. They improvise in the middle of songs, include their own twist to old blues classics, change the lyrics, extend their solos, have amazing energy, and just put out a great performance. Led Zeppelin were Gods of the stage and this album proves it!

This set is one of the best Zeppelin sets Ive bought. The guitar jam in Dazed and Confused is amazing, and the Bron-Y-Aur Stomp Live version is awsome, I think I could do this for every song and did I mention HEARTBREAKER LIVE BABY. All the other tracks are worthy of praise, those are just a few that have taken over my ipod, even if your not a Zeppelin fan and just a rock fan, you need to get these disks.

Me and my father loved the music so much we both gave it a thumbs up. Once you get past the 15 min solos here and there the music is addicting.

this cd belongs in everyones collection that is a true led zep fan,the playing is a lot better the previous concerts.The sound was really recorded good

I own every single Led Zeppelin album and I must say that this is BY FAR the best one. In my opinion the songs on this album are better than the studio recorded versions. With insane guitar and drum solos, killer vocals and awesome bass solos (especially in Dazed and Confused), there's no reason not to like this album. The band's most famous song, Stairway to Heaven, is also featured on this album and sounds even better live. DO NOT HESITATE TO BUY THIS ALBUM! I guaruntee that you will not be disappointed!

This CD has a lot of the Zeppelin classics on it that you are looking for. One of the best songs has to be Bron-Yr-Aur Stomp which is more lively than the original. 18 songs on a 3 CD set, it's the best deal for your money. It's a live recording, and there is a lot of life to it; with the fans and Robert and Jimmy playing up to them. This is definately a must for any Zeppelin lover.
I would say for anyone looking to buy this look for one new and still in its original packaging. You don't want to miss any of the great sound from a skip caused by a scratch.

I saw them on the same tour at the San Diego Sports Arena, and it has never been forgotten. The group will always remain the greatest.

I am trying to complete my Led Zeppelin catalog & this is a MUST for the serious Zep fan, of for that matter, ANY True Rock fan!

Great set. All the songs you want to hear. Excellent sound. This is Zeppelin at their prime. Must have for any Led Zeppelin fan.

Being a huge Zeppelin fan, this was something I just had to have. The sound quality is excellent. Much better than some of the bootlegs I have. It's the first time I heard Zeppelin do Dancing Days live and the song Whole Lotta Love had some cool medleys in it. I would recommend this CD to all true Zeppelin fans.

J.Page has always put more than a bit of quick thought on releasing
anything from Led Zep. Past that would not be up to Par. for the bands
true glory days. To wit/ In the Prime. This 3 CD collection from two
Cal. Performances from `72 hits the mark.
True Atomic Blues/Rock from the band when they were tight road warrior`s
that no other Band could touch at that time.
All the tracks are just the way you would want to hear them played live.
The Band is still hungry... and eager to amaze the listener!

Great Live Concert, as it was around 1972, but just before the blow-out super-psychedelic mind-expanding ever-specific 1973 tour. How the West Was Won is to cliche-ish, but great music to get to know. Keep expanding, and keep searching for those rare live albums and follow the progressions and growth.
