Get the "Led" out from '73

Zeppelin's 5th studio release is outstanding, you can really see the progression in their music and the addition of both writing style changes and a growing musical complexity here. The only song on this that is truly weak is "The Crunge", I could do without that song, and it is one of only a few that I don't really think shoulda made a Zep album but thats just me (especially after knowing that other outstanding songs like "Traveling Riverside Blues" didn't make it on a studio cut). The rest of the music here is awesome, in fact, "The Ocean" which is the last track on this cd, is one of my all time favorite songs along with the Jimmy Page masterpiece "No Quarter" and the haunting lyrics and vocals of Plant singing "Rain Song". This is a must for Zeppelin fans!

  Better than Zep IV

Zep Iv is a great album but some songs are not that great. This album is great from start to finish. All the songs are uplifting except for No Quarter which is dark but still great. Alone its a great song but it doesnt really fit with the vibe the other songs give. Although it might not have its gem like Zep Iv had Stairway To Heaven and it might not sound like their previous albums it has something the others dont have, a cheery-hippie vibe.

Led Zeppelin - Houses of the Holy. This album started to mark a little different sound for the band. Not bad, just different. This is a good album but I prefer the older sound of this band.

  led zeppelin

Houses of the holy is one of their best albums. I'm a huge zeppelin fan, have been for many years. As a matter fact i use to have all of the zeppelin collection at one time back many years ago. I still enjoy listening to zeppelin, and i'm 53 years old. Zeppelin will never get old with me. One of the greatest rock or the greatest rock bands of all time, just wish that were all still here today. It would kinda nice to see if they would still producing music as they did in the 70's and how much different the music would be like in this decade. Wished they were still going strong but personally in my mind they ARE !

This is a fine example of classic rock & roll. An incredibly talented group of 4 men who were the epitome of the classic rock & roll era. No wonder they are one of the top draws from the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Listen to their music and let me know what you think, David

The album is excellent with memories of the time. The twin towers I remember are different than the twin towers of 9/11.

  Another Great Album

With Zeppelin, every album seems different from the last. However, this one, for some reason, puts me in mind of the later album, Presence. Houses of the Holy us much more inovative though.

Led Zepplin Houses of the Holy

Never gets old. Each play is just as enjoyable as the first. May not be considered the all out best works of Led Zepplin, but it stands out among them. Like all others though, it is a timeless classic.

Led Zeppelin at their best. Nothing much more to say here. Nobody has ever surpassed the ability of this band to create unforgettable masterpieces and no one ever will. This album is a treasure the world should cherish. I know I do.

  Beautiful Artwork
Review created: 11/26/07

I have never really been a Zeppelin fan but I am a huge fan of Storm Thorgerson and for that reason I find this CD to be an essential album for my collection. As far as the music goes, it's OK but not nearly as dark as it should be. 5 stars for the beautiful artwork. 3 stars for the tunes.
