Movie Description Critics beware! A suicidal sculptor meets and befriends "The Creeper," a deformed killer who snaps his victim's spines. Together they exact revenge on the critics who vilified the artist's work, dooming him to a life of poverty and failure. The crimes are pinned on another artist, who struggles to prove his innocence. Notes The once-handsome Rondo Hatton, who plays "The Creeper", was diagnosed with acromegaly in his early twenties -- a disease that causes gross disfigurement by enlarging the bones in the face, hands, and feet. Hatton died before the release of "The Brute Man" (1946), the last in a series of B-movie roles as monsters and heavies.
