Sometimes the "oldies" are better than the newer movies. This was the original for the "House of Wax" that came along a few years ago. You can't compare one to the other. When it comes to "scary" the oldies are simpler but better.

An excellent example of "Vincent Price's" horror classics. It's good to get one of my favourites on DVD. Highly recommended to any lover of the classic horror genre.

I wanted my wife to see this movie, as she had never seen it, and when I was a teen, I thought it was the most scary movie I had ever seen, and I kept telling her that....but one thing I had forgotten in all these years....It was in 3D, and that added to the movie.....of course this one isn't in 3 D, After watching it, she told me it was so fakey, and I must have been about 6 or 7 years old when I watched it..:))))))))) I didn't tell her I was in my late teens....ahahahah...but I still enjoyed it, just for old times.....

Classic Vincent Price in one of his best performances. I have wanted this for a long time and for one reason or another never got around to it. Now I that I have it I'm sure I will wear this dvd out!!! I recommend this classic to all the fans of horror classics of yesteryear, you won't be dissapointed.

It was an example of early film making techniques. Although it's not in 3D you get a sense of the effects even in 2D. This DVD also has the earlier version of the movie. It's fun to watch both versions back to back and compare.

The video was in mint condition when it was sent and I always appreciate the speedy service that I receive from all of the buyers I have used on E-Bay so far. I bought the DVD because I loved the Vincent Price version called "House of Wax" (1953). I did not know that I would get "Mystery of the Wax Museum" on the flip side (1933). Both movies are of excellent quality and better than the 2005 version that I believe is also called "House of Wax". I would say that this DVD is one of the best we own. The 1953 version is our favorite, but when you consider that the 1933 version was made when a lot of technology was not in place, it really gains a lot of points. The 1933 version is in original color and understandable despite supposed microphone problems. Both movies are very precious and delightful.

Have nothing to do on a weekend/day night? Grab a Price DVD, cook some popcorn, grab the remote and enjoy! There is something about this actor that you can't put into words - he was ahead of his time. I was watching this in my VCR and a quarter of the way through, the tape got stuck in the machine. I had to buy the DVD to see what happened (you get hooked). I have seen five of his movies so far and have enjoyed each and every one of them. I can finally watch a "scary movie" without closing my eyes, blocking my ears and muting the sound! (I guess I'm kind of a `fraidy cat where scary/horror movies are concerned). Grab a few of Vincent Price's movies and get hooked - I did!
