Bummer...

Can a situation drive good (albeit flawed) people towards wrong doing? This morality play asks you to ponder that very question. In this case, loneliness and pride drive the main characters through a battle over a home in the San Francisco Bay Area.
My favorite aspect of the film is the fact that subtle actions, not dialog, deliver key points of exposition.
Although well acted and riveting at times, House of Sand and Fog ultimately stumbles when the characters, portrayed so convincingly in the first half of the film, chose unbelievable courses of action (I don't want to give anything away).
Definitely worth seeing if you're not counting on a feel good ending. As with any classic drama, hubris can have disastrous results.
