      Disappointing arcade to home translation

The House of the Dead is an arcade smash hit released by Sega. Sega decided to bring the arcade experience to Saturn owners. However, the Sega Saturn version just does not deliver.

Due to Sega Saturn's limited hardware power in producing 3D graphics, it has a hard time translating the arcade version. The graphics looks chunky and the objects do not fall into place correctly. Nevertheless, Sega has done a good job pulling the whole game together.

The good thing about this game is that you can choose multiple path so the replay value is high. It also supports 2 players and a stunner (gun). Stay away from this game if you are using a Saturn joypad to play through the game.

If you have never played the arcade version, give this a try and you might like blasting numerous zombies. Otherwise, I recommend saving your money and get the House of the Dead 2 for the Dreamcast.
