Hotel Rwanda (DVD)

This is a mind and soul wrenching true story that has been told for us in movie form. I was touched by the story that we have all read about in newspapers and seen on the news. I loved the Rwanda Boys then, but now my love for them is greater. This is a must see and not just once. The actors are great the story line sad but true. The human nature won't let you turn it off and in the end you are glad you watched to the end. A must for you library!

This movie definitely gives U an understanding of how people from other countries and nations are suffering from political asylum and communism. U are truly learning from this movie and enjoying the suspense of what will happen next. This is an excellent movie 2 share with family and friends and get a perspective on life in general.
I wanted more information 2 be act or played out by the characters in the end without sub text or written explanation @ the end. That lasted longer than the characters just acting it out. Overall, it is a great movie and it does make U upset as a Black or African American. We can be ver evil 2 eachother because of power and money. At some point somebody has got 2 stand and say, "Enough is enough"!

This movie is awesome! It should have won an Oscar but unfortunately it was running against 'Ray' and people were anticipating Jamie Foxx to deliver a wonderful performance. But this is a movie that should be shared in middle schools, colleges, and in every household. Whether you are American or not, it is movie that will touch heart and make you want to immediately get up and make a change!

If you ever doubt what one person can do to change others live and save their lives you need to watch this movie. This is based on a true story and that is pretty incredible. This movie will move you. Every time I see this movie I get something different out of it. It also illustrates how the UN and US turned it's back on a genocide and let millions die. It's incredibly sad but also uplifting. Highly inspirational story!

I almost never give a film a 5/5 rating, because there are almost no perfect movies. This, however is one of them. In no point was it lacking and in most points it excelled. Everything from the characters, to the plot, to the soundtrack, to the cinemetograpaphy was supurb. The historical account is utterly acurate, and it's message clear, non-polotical, and emotionally moving. If you have not seen this film, I urge you to watch it, especially if you are not familiar with the historical event of the Rwadan massacre.

"Hotel Rwanda" is a true story of the atrocities of genocide, or ethnic cleansing, that occurred in the African country of Rwanda. Many dismiss such accounts, believing it could never happen to them, or only happens in far away places. It is only by the grace of God that such things aren't so in my country. Hatred of others is an ugly thing, and one that yields only horror and brutality. "Hotel Rwanda" reminds us, through its accurate accounting of events of the time, that all anyone wants is a peaceful life - something that, unfortunately, those who have too often take for granted. I bought this movie as a reminder of how much I have to be thankful for, as well as how much I need to pray God's deliverance for us all. I consider this movie a must see, although not for its entertainment value, but for the lessons it will hopefully bring to light. Lessons that many need desperately to learn. God bless.

i read the book and had to do a report on the book but wanted a visual to go along with the book. great content went along great and helped me understand more. book is an ordinary man. but in my opinion. he was a lot more than that.

Sad and painful truth. This is a movie that must be watched by all. Anyone who fails to understand the message of this movie is simply doomed. This movie is a warning and also an evidence of the capacity of man in his real self outside of Jesus.

i did not no what to expect of the movie at first, but once i looked at it i realized that it was a powerful story for the world to see about this torture caused upon these innocent men, women, and children. the movie is very moving.

Very inspiring. My husbands boss is helping to build back what happened. We bought the movie so we can tie everything together and see the meaning of why they are doing it.

Excellent,well acted and written. It is gripping story of reality, horror,genocide and heroism. Well worth seeing. A real wake up call for the uninitiated.

Very difficult to watch at times. True story of the genocide perpetrated by the Huto peoples against the Tutisi peoples in 1994 in Rwanda after. Great acting & editing. Many examples of the wonderful cultural aspects of these two peoples. Look for the spontaneous dance routine by the young girls of the hotel lawns. Great example of how ordinary people can accomplish extraordinary things in the face of extreme controversies, of not knowing if you will be killed in the nest hour.

This movie is such a good movie. It is sad, but it is still a great movie. One of those movies, that makes you think.. That this stuff is true. The shipping was super fast, got the movie, watched it, and was grateful for having it. Thank you so much!

Absolutely loved this movie! It was amazing! I have seen it several times, and had to buy it. The story is quite sad, and sometimes gruesome, but the film is amazing. Hotel Rwanda is based on a true story, and actual events, this is a tear jerker!

I bought this movie because I just sponsored a child in Rwanda and am trying to get a general idea of the region without doing too much (boring) research. Very good movie and as true to fact as a hollywood movie can be! :)

The item was in excellent condition as it was described. I purchased an USED ITEM, but it was like new.

This is a very action filled dvd with me living with mixed emotions. It is about afamily living through genocide and they go to this leader who protects them in his hotel.

This film is definitely worth the time. Too many times we watch film with no content and learn nothing. This film will open your eyes to an important topic and great acting.

Good movie about the Rwandan atrocities and how just ONE person can make a difference in the innocent lives of others. A good lesson in courage and love of one's neighbor.

This is a movie that everyone as to see about the first genocide of the 21th century, true story, the main character in the movie was the consultant of the movie. Very interesting if you want to know what happen there

This movie is one of the best I have seen. It is based on actual events, which always interests me. The movie takes place in Rwanda and really opens your eyes to the horrible events that took place there. Your heart will break as you see the desperation of these people as they try to get help from other countries to no avail. After watching the movie over 5 times, I still cry.
