The Hot Flash Club by Nancy Thayer (2004, Paperback, Reprint)

I really enjoyed this book more than I have any book in a number of years! My mother actually recommended it and the author's writing is easy to read and not textbook-like which I thoroughly enjoyed. I ordered others by this author for this reason and look forward to reading them all. I sent it to my oldest friend in England which is where I grew up and we're the same age so I know she'll enjoy it also.

Great reading - could not put it down. I am now ready for the rest of the series and looking forward to it. Very well written, we could all identify with one or more of the characters. It is nice to ready about everyday issues we "Mature" ladies encounter.

I bought this book because a group of us decided to begin a book club. This book was suggested as the first book to read. The group consists of several ladies, all around the same age as the characters in the book.
I liked this book because the author described the characters very clearly and used language and descriptions that the reader could understand and relate to. The story was humorous, classy, and well written. It made me laugh and cry.
I would recommend it to any one who knows and/or understands what a hot flash is.
The story describes a friendship between four women between the ages of 50 and 62. Each character is introduced separately, then as you read the story you understand and learn how they come together as friends. This story really describes what friendship can mean to women and how far friends are willing to go to help each other out.

A fantastic enjoyable book about mature women! Life continues after 50 and these women demonstrate that. The character studies are fascinating. Definately will read the entire series.
