I was a Dan Abnett fan long before I read 'Legion', but I was still impressed by the unique perspective this book showed of the Space Marine Legions during the Horus Heresy. I thought this book was excellent because in most depictions of Space Marines in Warhammer 40k, they are represented simply as unstoppable juggernauts. 'Legion' takes a new view, showing their potential for clandestine operations and psychological warfare. This book showed the Astartes of the Alpha Legion as simultaneously both aloof and much more human than ever before. I heartily recommend this book for long time Warhammer fans and those new to it as well. Very interesting reading.
